Minutes of the Membership Meeting 
of April 19, 2014
at Seattle Yacht Club

Commodore Allan Van Ness called to order a 
Special Meeting of the PNMYC Membership
upon conclusion of the awards presentation of the 
2014 Northwest Regional Championships regatta 
on April 19, 2014.

The awards for the 2013-2014 Frostbite Sailing Series 
were presented to 
John Ive, First Place; 
John Lindquist, Second Place; and 
Philip Hubbell, Third Place.
.
Commodore Van Ness reviewed the prior membership meeting of 
February 15, 2014, and the history of discussions concerning 
revising the PNMYC By-Laws, creating a set of General Sailing 
Instructions for PNMYC-sponsored races, and investigating the 
idea of liability insurance for PNMYC and its members.
He also reiterated the actions he had taken to procure 
Non-Profit Corporation status for the PNMYC.

These four subjects, having been presented in detail to the 
members by email individually and continuously posted publicly 
on the PNMYC website for more than the thirty days required by 
the By-Laws in force, a vote was called for on each matter.

Endorsement of the reconstitution of PNMYC as a non-profit 
corporation passed by unanimous vote.
.
Adoption of the new By-Laws passed by unanimous vote.
.
The General Sailing Instructions were amended to permit booms 
of any cross-section not exceeding 3/8" in vertical dimension 
(not including solid vang) and were passed by unanimous vote.
.
A vote of the members authorized the Board's discretion in 
procuring liability insurance with an annual premium up to $250, 
or to continue researching additional options for liability 
insurance.
.
The members authorized, by unanimous vote, an increase in 
annual dues of $5 in each category of membership.
.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:15 PM.
